Ok, so it’s no secret that we love Pinterest and highly recommend including it in your online marketing arsenal if you’re in the food, wine or tourism business.

For food in particular – because it’s the most pinned subject.

We’ve talked about how it drives more online sales than any other social network, why it’s incredibly appealing to your female customers and how it can help boost your SEO efforts.

And we’ve given you the 10 commandments to achieve Pinning Perfection.

But rather than look at it from a business owner or marketing manager’s perspective, let’s look at the power of the pin through your consumer’s eyes.

Just in case you need further convincing! We came across this doozie of an infographic in our travels, and really, what better way to sum up Pinning than with a picture.

Here’s the bits that really jumped out for us…

What do they want?

Food! Food rates a whopping 57% for what people are pinning. So if you’re selling food or wine, you know you’ve got instant pin-ability. (Ok so we made that word up, but you know what we mean!)

Why will they follow you?

51% want deals and coupons. In short, they want to be treated like a Pinterest VIP. Hit them up with special offers and exclusive deals, and you’ll make your Pinners happy.

Who loves Pinterest?

80% are female and 55% are 25-44, so it’s a prime market for your business to tap into.

How much do people love Pinterest?

1 in 4 spend more time on Pinterest than other social media and it’s showing.

What will they do after Pinning?

Buy! It’s now one of the leading social media sites for shopping and is creating an average order of almost 3 times as much as Facebook. Winning.

The other exciting part about Pinterest is that it just continues to grow. Which means that now is a great time to jump aboard this social media juggernaut if you haven’t already done so and we know you’ll enjoy the ride.

If you need help getting started with Pinterest or want to check in to see how best to capitalize on the opportunity that it offers your business then drop us a line.

Until next time…..
