From our first blog on Pinterest last year, you would know:
- Pinterest is an online pinboard where you can collect & share photos you love
- It’s the 3rd most popular social media platform after Facebook & Twitter
- It has over 10 million users & is growing all the time
- Over 70% of those users are female
- A survey revealed over 81% trusted what they found on Pinterest
And in addition to that, some say: “it has the potential to bring you more traffic than Linkedin, Google+ and YouTube put together.”
What can Pinterest do for your food, wine or tourism business?
- Create backlinks
- Generate traffic to your site
- Invite comments
- Spread your images virally across the net
This last one is a corker so we thought we’d say it again. Pinterest can spread your images (and links) virally across the net… to people likely to be interested in your Pinboard photo subjects.Perfect for displaying your new wine, showcasing a recipe or even sharing photos of our Bed and Breakfast.
Sounds a little bit like global, word-of-mouth advertising don’t you think?
Posting pictures and hoping that people will either re-pin, comment on or “like” may seem strange at first – but remember the exciting part…the source of the pin remains as a hyperlink on the photo itself, so can become an instant lead generator.
And, by using Google Analytics, you can track how many people Pinterest is driving to your website and you can also figure out how those Pinners are interacting with your website, and if they become customers.
How do I use Pitnerest for business?
Well we thought that seeing as Pinterest is all about pretty pictures, then it makes the most sense to use one to explain how to use it!
So here it is…
